Before anyone goes off the rails or makes fun of me…. I legally bought a 2000 ford explorer either title that I’m parting and scrapping. Pulled 5.0 engine, trans, EFI and possibly the rear 8.8.

I pulled the 4 cats off the truck with the hopes of sells them. Who buys these things? I know theres a market for them and I’m willing to ship. Just no idea to whom or where.

Thanks!

I've had a hard time getting rid of them. Either take a whole car to scrap with them attached or have receipts where you replaced them with new. I'm sure different places handle this differently, but they are heavily regulated now.

Market place Mexicans are about your only choice. They don’t bring much now days unfortunately due to the crack down on theft. Lately I have been lucky to get 50$ for one

I pulled an aftermarket one off of my YJ and took it to the scrapyard/recycler in hopes of getting enough for a decent bottle of bourbon.

They said it was aftermarket and not worth shit. I think I got enough to get a six pack of Busch Latte.

I’ve heard factory cats are worth more, though.

RR Cats dot com will take them and pay well. They'll send you a shipping label and everything. They usually require some proof of ownership though. It's worth checking out.

I got 115 bucks for a factory one off a 93 S10. Aftermarket ones don't pay worth a damn.

What kind of proof of ownership? Like a car registration?
I have what I think is factory from a 93 Toy.

Scrap place in Mount Airy gave me $280 for a old F250 cat a couple years ago.

If it was the one over by Mount Airy High they have gotten a lot more strict. When I cleaned out our shop last fall I hauled the remains of an S10 over there and they wanted the title. I was smart enough to tell them it was parts since there was no engine or front clip. They took it in as "parts" not a "vehicle" when I said that. Jaimie's in Stuart is the same way. Needs a title or proof of ownership for full vehicles and converters now.

This is the place over just past Merritt Supply headed toward Ocie’s. They buy a bunch of aluminum wheels too. They had me show the title of my F250.

I have the 3rd cat off my LJ somewhere around here and a set still on a 6.0 chevy. I should have sold them years ago...

RRCats.com for the win! Easy process. Pics of each cat and proof of ownership. 10mins later had a quote and 5 mins after that arrived a UPS shipping label.

Just need to find a HD box to pack these things.
What proof of ownership do they need? I have a few here that came off of scrap cars I stripped out.
