The 2010 SFWDA Summer Convention will be held at Uwharrie National Forest, june 11-13, 2010. The convention will be hosted by the Carolina Trail Blazers and C.O.R.E. 4wd clubs.
There will semi primitive camping available at no charge with port-a-lets available at The Cagle Farm. There is a country store with all necessary supplies including fresh cooked food and gas 1/2 mile from the convention site.
The Uwharrie OHV area offers 16 miles of Forest Service OHV trails that range from easy to moderately challenging in difficulty. Access to the OHV trail head is on FS roads so vehicles will need to be street legal and registered, or towed from the convention site, 2 miles to the trail head.
Make plans now to attend the 2010 Summer Convention and support SFWDA at it continues to be a voice for public land access in the South!

The Southern Four Wheel Drive Association, SFWDA, http://sfwda.org/ , is an association of 4wd clubs throughout the southeast. Both Carolina Trail Blazers and C.O.R.E. (Carolina Off Road Extremists) are SFWDA member clubs from NC. SFWDA is a member association of the United Four Wheel Drive Association, UFWDA. SFWDA is a advocate of public land use and promotes 4wd conservation, education and recreation.

They hold two major fund raising rides each year to fund association operation and charitable donations. These are Trailfest the first weekend in May and Dixie Run the first weekend in October.

They also hold quarterly meetings to keep the membership informed of SFWDA business and to get together and ride. The Summer Convention is the 2nd quarter meeting. Anyone is welcome to attend, check out the meeting, which will me held at 9 a.m. Saturday the 12th, meet some folks, both local and from different states and do some wheeling. Yeah, basically "just a bunch of wheelers getting to together for the weekend? " :)

Bump for the SFWDA meeting.

This is your opportunity to check out SFWDA and it's member clubs, ask questions, do some trail riding and support an association of 4wd clubs that is working for YOUR right to ride your rig on public lands!

The meeting will be held at The Cagle Farm, http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?hl=e...0.154324&t=h&z=13&iwloc=000482086279d7a2c0e49.

FREE camping on site, meeting at 9 a.m. Saturday the 12th, raffle following the meeting at 10 a.m., trail riding after the raffle.

Come whether you are a SFWDA member or not.

is anyone going to speak directly about the "obliteration" of Tellico trails at the meet?

(not trying to fling any :poop: JC - just seeing if we can get any news as to a lawsuit, the timeline and the current outcome or future)

I am going to stop buy. See you there.

Time is drawing near! Come out and see what's going on inside of the SFWDA! Free camping, large field with enough area for everyone!
Refreshments served Saturday morning!

Let's make SFWDA first trip to this part of the country a success!

One week from today, June 12th, is the 2nd Quarter SFWDA meeting at The Cagle Farm off of Mullinix Rd at Uwharrie National Forest.

EVERYONE is welcome to attend the meeting which starts at 9 a.m. This is a quarterly get together for SFWDA membership and anyone else interested in SFWDA happenings. The meeting should last about 1 hour and will cover things like a treasurer's report, Rescue Tellico info, what SFWDA is doing in other parks, etc.

Immediately following the meeting, C.O.R.E. (Carolina Off Road Extremists) will hold a fund raising raffle so be sure to get there in time to buy some raffle tickets.

After the raffle we will break up into trail ride groups and hit the trails.

Free coffee and donuts will be available, as long as they last, so come out and join us, check out SFWDA happenings, maybe win some swag at the raffle and enjoy a day on the trails.

Looking forward to being out there tomorrow.

I wish I could be there today.
I hope all of you who can, have a great time and don't let Dylan win too much stuff.
