Doing some research on a project I'm working on. I need to bend or rollover the edge of sheet metal. I don't have the room for a big break or even a small one. Anyone know of an easy way to do this? Or a tool that makes it easy? I thought about rollers like a bead roller but don't know anything about them. Oh yea cheap is the key here for this.

gauge ? car metal?

a pair of flat bill pliers

a square 3/4 steel plates about 3 x 3 and a carpenters hammer

bout as cheap as it gets but I tuck and rolled xj fenders barely breaking the paint if work slow with essentially the same tools

out side that a couple flat bars or angles clamped over the metal and a good pipe wrench for leverage (double the bars on the bend edge, and clamp the rest stable to a work table with another bar)

bend as far as possible finish with BFH

thicker stuff score with cut off rock and fold away from score line

next option get a chunk of good hardwood or high grade plywood

a steel bar works too

clamp edge with over hang of desired flange

hammer and cold work metal to fold over the supplied bar or wood as a forming buck

works great for complex dishes and radius shapes if work slow and move the metal a little at a time

Roof metal for this and other small projects. Ideally was looking for something to roll the sharp edge.

My father in law uses one of these to turn up the edge of field cut panels on roofs. Works great
