What are the best carriers to have an axle shipped?

The fastenal process was pretty easy a few years ago. As long as it can be strapped to a pallet.

Fastenal has issues crossing the middle part of the country. It is their "Blue Lane Freight" service and roughly speaking they do not cross the continental divide. That said I have used them where they do ship and they were competitive as long as the sender can palletize. If that is you, be prepared for it. If you are the one shipping I can say that my company uses Southeastern Freight Lines (SEFL.com) for a ton of stuff and they are pretty reliable. I bet you could drop at a terminal and get it going.
