Ok im thinking about replacing my shocks im not sure how old they are or even is changing them will change anything. I have a 98 chevy full size ex cab 4x4. The ride is pretty stiff and thinking changing shocks might help. Also plan on new tires, and alignment at about the same time. Looking for sugestions on shocks

Rancho RS5000 for $163
Rancho RSX for $206
Pro-Comp ES3000 $150 (Aprox)

is ones I am considering and thats shipped.

damn, thems some slim pickins. They're all "low end" shocks..

I'd run Bilsteins, or another type of high pressure monotube, like edelbrock IAS's, but if I had to pick, I'd say the RSX might be the nicest riding. Those ES3000's are stiff as hell.. 5000's aren't much better.

Did you bounce on the bumpers to see if the shocks are bad? It should bounce once and then stop. Or are you just replacing them to get a different ride?

i weight 160lbs and cant budge the truck to get it to bounce. I have had the truck for a year they were not new then and its got 130k miles on it so its just something I figure needs changing.
