Picked up this snazzy table from @jeepinmatt the other day so me and the boys can start our next project. The table itself needs a little love first. Here’s the table in its original form:

Then we started cutting off the top piece of diamond plate and the boys started cleaning up the rough parts. We ended up cutting out one side of the bottom plate to get rid of the rusted out holes.

The boys want to build a recessed tray out of angle iron to drop into that void for round tube scraps that tend to roll around. We have the scrap pieces, so why not.

I’m liking it so far. Let me know when you get done and I’ll buy it back

We’ve had a 4x8 sheet of 3/8” steel laying on my Dad’s shop floor for over 20 years. He thought it was perfect for leveling his mower deck on. Asked to buy it, he gave it to me. Free if you consider caring for your family “free”. It’ll get bartered like most other stuff around the farm. Cut it down to 3x5 and welded it on. Got 3 coats of Rustoleum hammered satin black. Now it weighs twice as much as it did and should last forever. Almost work ready.

Maybe a designated group of holes for clamping fixtures? Also, a rod welded on, out of the way, for a grounding clamp, maybe even an insulated 4 gang box, so a plug in isn't too far away, and wired so it is plug in, and only one heavy drop cord is needed.

This is definitely in the plan. I want my tools from my fixture table to carryover to this one. Just not near as many.
