Silver is on a dip

I cashed out on precious metals in February 2013 when gold was still over 1650/oz and silver was over 30/oz...it's been down hill since then. I bought at 1350/oz and 19/oz last go round...looks like it's time to get back in to it.

china is poised to soak up a lot of precious metals as they set themselves up to be THE currency. This lull will no doubt be a good time to get into the metals before china starts its heavy purchasing. How ever, if you dont have the cash now, start saving. When China's economy fails (and it will) those metals will plummet. The safer bet is to wait until then. right now you dont know when the plummet is gonna happen and you dont want to be sitting on a boatload of commodities when it does.

I think I'm going to start trapping. Beaver Pelts is where it's at for the next currency. Oh yeah.

Beaver always has been and always will be a valid, marketable currency. What's a pelt?

an average beaver pelt was selling for close to $25 this year. muskrat was close to $10 with none of the work of a beaver. The real money is in bobcats in the south though over $100 a pelt

Or you could start hoarding D44s, D60s and other solid axles in prep for the IFS Wrangler...

I don't know... the last time I tried to sell anything Bobcat related I got laughed at.... then again - I was in Charlotte.

Just wondering, because i have thought about buying some before. But where do yall usually buy silver or gold when your buying it for investment when its low like it is. Or do you just find whatever small pieces here and there you can get?

Time to grab some with those worthless greenbacks.

So I took your advice and got rid of some of my green currency. I totally took advantage of the low price of silver that you mentioned and gave a guy a $100 bill for this:

That guy was so dumb..... one piece of paper for two pieces of silver! I am SO all set to retire! He must have felt bad about getting ripped off because he ran off real quick. I think his laughter was to cover his shame.

I have a coin and bullion dealer I mainly use. They sell just a tad over spot. If they are out I use silvertowne. If you get their generic bars you get free shipping and its at your door in a week.

I do a lot of investing in the market, but have never bought gold or silver. I would imagine the best way to invest in silver would be with an ETF.

Only problem is if its not in your possession then you really don't own it. To every ounce of physical silver out there there is 100 ounces of paper silver.

As long as I can sell it for more than I paid for it...

Is there a reason why you wont buy gold or silver?

But what if someone comes to your house to take it away from you?:D

What is it about gold and silver that make them TRULY valuable? What made gold "the standard" aside from being pretty and shiny and a good electrical conductor, it's pretty useless if you think about it.

Beaver pelt (and beaver) is FAR more useful, especially when it's cold outside.

I'm far from an expert at investing. I'm sure buying and selling commodities can be a good investment if you do your homework. I've just never spent any time studying them.

Beaver is never better than when it's cold outside!
