Single or Dual steering stabilizers?

Dual stabilizer kits cost about twice as much as single kits (well, I guess that does make sense). But are there any real, practical advantages of duals over singles ... enough to be worth it ... or is it mostly a matter of looks? CJ7, 4" lift, 33x12.5r15, mostly streets with potholes that seem to move around from one week to the next.

My truck came with a single OEM steering dampener. I can't tell the difference between the 5ish year old original, the brand new one, and not running one at all. That's on 35s.

If you've got bad steering geometry, I guess it could help with some of the feedback at the wheel, but it would probably be better to fix the geometry.

stabilizers are only a band-aid for other problems. you shouldn't need one with 33's. make sure you have good TRE's and ball-joints, good alignment, and balanced tires. With a 4" lift, you may need a pinion shim to get your caster back close to stock.

Duals mask more problems.. I'm a fan of fixing the problem...

So brand new Jeeps along with Ford and Dodge trucks with the solid axles have bad geometry from the factory? They are all equipped with a steering dampener. Yes?

No dampers are good for reducing feed back overall..
BUT if you have a problem, adding a double damper isnt the answer

"Upgrade"

Thanks to everyone for saving me some $.

I suspected duals were a waste when I couldn't find any seller to say anything positive about them except, in their humble opinions, duals are an "upgrade" over singles.

I will remove the OEM stabilizer (which is LOOONG over due for retirement), see if any problems arise and go from there.

evreything i have read over the years about stablizers say they do nothing but absorb energy to reduce the shock to all of the steering components and to the shock sent to the steering wheel.

After I find and fix any steering component problems, I'll go back to a single stabilizer for just that reason. THX.
