Somehow, I knew this was inevitable. I heard that Aloha has grounded most, if not all of it's flights due to fuel costs. I'm 30, and I've never flown. Now it looks like I may never have the chance. I can't afford it!
friend's wedding in Connecticut. I just booked UScairways for just $400.
I havent told wifey yet, but she had a huge summer vacation plan involving mom inlaw flying here to help her travel with our 3 kids, then I was gonna fly out later (after 2 weeks bach'ing it, I was looking forward to some wrenching and wheelin) and meet up with them later, then all fly home.
My credit card company said their SOP for airline disputes requires me to FAX or mail a letter to them. At least I can do it all with one FAX, I really expected the customer service abdul (my ass your name is sam) to tell me one FAX per reservation
Not suprised, I don't see how airlines make it these days, they gotta have a near full plane to cover costs. I'm going to Cancun the beginning of July, flying USAirways, not sure how much the tickets were cause I got them in a package deal.
I just flew to/from Toledo Ohio, as I was putting my shoes back on in the security check area, the TSA agents at Toledo Express Airport were discussing the ATA shutdown and how they hoped Skybus would be able to pick up the slack..... goes thats not an option now. (Toledo Express is a pretty small place and not real busy on a Thursday afternoon)
Uh, yeah, suckage indeed. We were planning to make use of the super cheapo flights into MD for home hunting. Oh well.
Lets be honest, thsi should not surprise anyone. Flying people for $50 just isn't going to work.

Last week I flew USAir from GSO into Philly for only $200, and that was booked 5 days in advance.
When it comes time for me to move, maybe I'll give you the chance to see what a plane is like in exchange for some blood and sweat. You're not missing much!
I am 6'5" tall, and over 300#, told my employer if they were gonna make me fly, I want 2 seats ! which they did.
Canadair Regional business jet from RDU to Cleavland, interior height, 6'1", I could not walk straight down the isle, my shoulders were hitting the overhead compartment doors, the seats are 22ish" wide, I was wedged in, there was no way I could have sat for the 80ish minutes to and from Cleavland if I had to sit straight. Hell, even sitting across two was painful.
The Dash 8 from Cleaveland to Toledo was only slightly more bareable.
Had much more fun and comfort in the Southwest 737 we flew too Chicago 8 years ago.
FYI, through JETBLUE, skybus customers affected by this if flying before april 13th can get a 50 per flight ticket to certain cities. In other words I just got the same flight I was going on the same days etc etc through JETBLUE for 100 bucks total. I just have to leave from charlotte instead of gboro. If this affects anybody on here, go to jetblue.com. they were very helpful with me.

I just remembered going on a School Rugby Tournament trip when I lived in London. Flew to the Paris with the team. While in Paris, the Airline we had used, went belly up. Sorry, we're not running anymore.
Coaches had to get creative and figure out how to get the 20 players and 2-3 coaches home. Ended up taking a train, then a Hydra-craft across the channel and then another train to London, all while keeping track of a rugby team.
The cool thing was that when we got off the train We saw Lenny Kravits coming off the same train we were just on. Just happened that a bunch of us were going to his concert the following night. We got our picture taken with him. He was pretty cool. But this was back on his first Album tour.
Just did a flight to and back from Hawaii on Delta, full plane both ways, packed, filled up, no moving room.
Checked for price differences on return flights, leaving Friday night, $6??, leaving Saturday morning, $12??,....don't much get it, but I was nice and saved you taxpayers some money by leaving Friday night
My wife was a flight attendant for Skybus. It sucks they went belly up cause it was a great buisness plan. Just needed cheaper fuel and a better economy and they could have made it. We did at least get a free trip to Maine out of the deal.
