Mountain City is closed now, right? Any place to go within a 3 to 4 hour drive of Charlotte for some snow wheeling?

Wouldn't mind being able to camp either.

:bounce2:

Yes, No. Unless it happens to snow Jan. 14th at the Flats you're out of luck. Mtn City was the best place around to go snow wheelin IMHO. Windrock or Harlan would be good options with a longer drive but some of that stuff can get wicked dangerous with a layer of snow/ice on it.

Whenever it does snow we usually take a trip to Richlands Rd. on the way to Boone off of 321. Not a difficult place but a very fun trail with some good hill climbs, mud holes, and creek beds to ride. Add some snow and it is a blast! Will keep you updated or just check the weather... if it is snowing in the mountains then its snowing in Richlands!!

Hurricane Creek trail in Haywood County. At milemarker 8 on I40 the trail starts. You're at a pretty good elevation to start and you end up at about 4600 ft elevation.

Well lets set up a time to go once it starts snowing. Do you have any free time and a non broken rig by chance Jody?

I plan on checking it out New Years Eve or New Years Day, I should be in the area, snow or not.

Post up the conditions if you don't mind!
