you may not have noticed but he slept through work today and doesn't plan to return.

Im going to go tomorrow and finish, if it wasnt finished today. I will still do it I imagine, but it killed me because Im not used to that much work, and I did so much of it in one day.

seriously man i'm 18 and pull about 500 bucks a week being a waiter, at Red Robin, if your good at it you can make good money.

i say stick with it a while. i think everyone should have the experience of hard manual labor at least once in their life. builds character, and generally drives people to get an education to open up cushier job oppurtunities. it worked for me, doing plumbing work and turning wrenches kept me motivated enough to get a degree.

i've tried the white collar thing, but am now going back to manual labor. it's hard work and really sucks sometimes, but i find it makes me alot happier in the end. there's also great satisfaction in looking at a completed job and knowing you did it with your own two hands.

"macdaddy" i think you may need to have a talk with your sponser.

I dont have one.

Id imagine being a waiter would be a good job, but the pay could flucuate quite alot couldnt it?

Did you happen to think that your boss may have personally promised that the job would be completed. You ditched it unfinished, then didnt show up the next day? Good job man

And people wonder why Mexicans are taking jobs.

I'm not sure how you managed that but I'm suspicious it will be changing soon...?

Franklin is on the money here. I just realized that I sound like my father :( ... but this does not sound liek very responsible behavior. You very well may have just made your "friend" look very bad to somebody. It that were me I wouldn't even want to talk to you now lest I say something rude, and I'm sure you can kiss any future help or contacts from thsi fellow goodbye.

Go become a life guard like did at your age. you can still get skin cancer and work outdoors. but look a babes all day.
BIG plus: those babes will all be wearing less than you are. ;)

Well, don't know what you have vehiclewise... but if you got room for a push mower and weedwhacker, why not start looking for lawns to mow?

You will "have" to make yourself finish the job though since they won't pay till it is done, but you will be making some really good cash.

Chances are you WILL end up having to report that cash cuz guys like me (accountants) will tell their clients to send you a 1099. But owning/running your own business CAN get addictive!

I had a friend who worked his way thru college running his own landscaping deal. We both graduated with accounting degrees...I think he tried it for a while and actually decided he liked working for himself more!

So now, 13 years later, I see him at lunch sometimes and we share a booth and he runs a landscaping company and I run a CPA firm. He just hated working indoors, has a good tan, in great shape...works 8-9 months a year and makes pretty close to the same thing I do! (Heck he would prob make more but doesn't want to mess with employees who don't show up, etc heh :flipoff2: )

So...it is all about how YOU enjoy life...personally I LOVE sitting here in my office, a/c blasting, surfing the net (uh...working), and crunching numbers.

Final .02...yep, did the hard labor stuff too, hung drywall for 3 months until the manager found out I knew how to type and do bookkeeping...and have done oddjob stuff during college digging holes for fences, lawncare, etc.

1/2 of college was paid for by working 40 hours a week 3rd shift as night auditor/manager at hotel and I can tell you getting off work at 7am and having a 8am class sux...

Sam...glad its over/pays someone to mow his lawn now (ie lazy b@st@rd)...Hinton

so I think im going to stick with it for a while, today wasnt too bad at all..

Ive got no sponsor on these boards, and thus can only post in General Chit Chat :)

Actually, he wasnt pissed at all that I didnt come, when I got there today he had done about 2 more rows and that was it. He was doing it for his neighbors, and the job was only gonna cost them about 150 anyways (quite a deal considering a job as big as we did runs close to 400)

My vehicle cant haul much, I drive a 98 TJ
