I've got these friends that moved to Moscow (yeah, Russia). I've been trying to think of what to get them for Christmas. Shipping anything is hugely expensive....So, I want to get them something intangable...Something I don't have to ship, but something they can have...For my birthday last year, they had a star named for me...I adopted a Corrolla horse in their name for Christmas last year...

Anyone have any interesting ideas?

that's a tough one. how about a charitable donation to NC's lighthouses or something?

start a website for them to share pics wtih family and friends on.

do something for their family.

you could register them to be financial sponsors for my truck! i need new tires!

I like Houdini's idea.. Set 'em up a nice website?

Any chance you could actually purchase a local-to-them gift certificate online for them?

Well Russian mail-order brides are popular in this country, maybe...

I mean sure its primarily for him, but she could enjoy it also?
Maybe?

another option:

For each $25 donation, a tree will be planted in honor of those on holiday gift lists, including family, friends, co-workers and clients. A beautiful, personalized holiday card will be sent to the recipient announcing the gift. For a $100 contribution, TreePeople will plant a grove of five trees and send an inscribed certificate to the recipient. Certificates may be framed with a handsome recycled wood frame for an additional $30.

I think some of that stuff is kinda corny...but after the "naming a star" gift, figured you might at least look into them...

So you get a picture of your tree as it is growing? I would like to do that if I could see the tree I am sponsoring. :flipoff2:
