1983 K5 Blazer. I have a brand new set of rubber floors to install in this. Before I do that, I want to do some type of adhesive sound deadening. Would like any positive or negative experiences with particular products. Am looking for something along the lines of dynomat or similar.

Dynomat from Amazon has been awesome.

I used Noico 80 Mil sound deadener from Amazon on my Camaro. It’s pretty similar to Dynamat but much cheaper. It made a huge difference.

Iirc, there's some self adhesive "door and window" tape or "flashing" tape at the big box stores that's about the same material. May also be called "ice and water shield" but I'm certain the door & window tape is a very very similar product, if you want it NOW instead of ordering it. Basically a black tar type stuff with a foil backing.. I believe the ice water shield is the same material (but 3 or so foot wide, and 25-50ft per roll, think it's +/-$100, but don't quote me). A quick gargler search will turn up if that's correct, & you aren't the only one looking for the cheap way out. (Even if you aren't looking for the cheap way, cheap always better.)

@UJO told me the budget competition sound guys used Grace "Snow & Ice". I couldn't find it locally, so used "Peel & Seal" (black tar shat with aluminum top layer). I used it to do my old Foxbody Mustang with very good results... took a lot of rattles & resonance out and made the whole thing "sturdier" sounding.

I used something similar to that in my old 2nd Gen. Cummings and it did pretty good. I may have some old pictures from back then. Used an electric heat gun and roller. Definitely “sealed” up the cab a lot! Did the doors, full floor pan up as far into the foot well as I could and 2 layers against the back of the cab and around the sides of the extended cab area. I bought it at ABC Building Supply.
