I have a 7" channel frame on my trailer and I need to mount a spare tire carrier to it. Anyone know where to get one that would work with this tall of a frame or have any ideas on fabbing one up?

Carry the tire in the bed of your truck...

Cris, is it a 5 or 6 lug axel? My trailer was a 6 lug and I found two toyota rear spare tire carriers off a FJ40 and bolted them(on each side) and it looked killer and cost almost nothing!

6 lug wheels. I'll keep that in mind too. For right now it's sitting in the back of the truck; covered in pollen nonetheless.

I mounted two spares on the tongue of my trailer, with a storage box on top of them.I like it, keeps them out of the way/secure, and gives me a good place to store straps and stuff.

Another good idea is to get a trailer hub and mount it up to bolt the spare to, but to also have a spare hub.

Weld this to the side of the trailer:

My Kaufman trailer has something very similar just welded to the side in front of the tires on the passenger side.

That might work. My trailer frame has a lip around the outside though. Similar to an I-beam but more like C channel. I could mount remove the back plate and move it to the other side and mount it on the inside. That may work.. Either that or steal the design and save 20 bucks and build my own. :p
