im currently doinga spring over on my jeep, using my 3.5'' bds lift springs. how big of tires do you think would fit it perfect?i was thinking 37- 38's but wondering if anyone else had done this with 2''-4'' lift springs?
A friend of mine has a 95 YJ with SOA and I think 2.5" springs, with 33s and they look goofy small. He could run 35s without any problems, and 37s with maybe a little trimming, if even necessary. And some real axles.
I'm running tube fender's, but I have 4" lift spring with a couple leafs removed and I'm running 42" Iroks, but it is a D60 might make a little difference.
SOA with stock springs gives you ~5", and can clear 35s with it. With extra 3" springs, your gonna clear 40s. Gonna get axel wrap, going to need new steering, and custom driveshafts, and the angle is gonna be pretty severe..........
I'm running stock springs with 38s and TJ flares...works great. I am having trouble keeping my tires outta my front fenders but, I wanted it low so I'm not really worried about it. The problem could be easily solved with some bumpstops to limit uptravel. A buddy of mine just finished his spring over on 2" Ranchos and its on 35s with LOTS of room to spare.
Yes, yes mine clears 35's with ease. Honestly, the damn thing is too tall for my own good. I'm seriously considering dropping the 2" springs and throwin a stock spring pack under there. But then again i'm in college and I crave attention so I might just leave it huge. There are pictures in the link in my sig if you wanna take a gander. I'm not sure how big the lift springs actually are since I wasn't the one who put them on, I've been told 2" and 2.5" but i'm not sure. Hope it helps
I have built a 92 yj for a friend with 4 inch procomp spring over on full width dana 60 and 44 combo. Small Amount of trimming on the flares allowed for 38s, but will still scrub at full flex. I would say without cutting you are best suited with 36s. if you want to trim the lower lip of of your flares you should be able to clear 37s easily.
P.S. Dont forget an anti axle wrap bar.
