i picked up a 8.8 im putting it in my xj but idk if i want a spool or a locker...what do you guys think?

Spool. It is cheaper and wont wear your tires any more than a lockright. There is much less to go wrong. It is 100% all the time.

how much street driving ya gonna do? It gets kind of old driving a spool (welded in mycase) in a crowded parking lot...forget about trying to be discrete, everyone in the area hears ya sqawking tires

True dat Renegade
( hava spool in my CJ)

I'm running a minispool in my 8.8. If you don't have the coin for an arb it's the way to go

Spool is more reliable or should I say predicable in wet weather. I had Detroit in mine, ran it almost 3000 miles and took it out for a spool.

My 8.8 has a mini spool in it. Seems to be pretty common to run the spool in the 8.8 over the locker. Probably has to do with price difference.

screw a spool......weld it up

I am putting an aussie in my 8.8

full spools require C-clip elim kits- they are a sweet upgrade for 8.8 the c-clip kits.

the mini spools you can run factory shafts there functional.

i do not recomend welding it will bugger your carrier and typically ruin the setup. if it a stock ratio then ya weld it you don't have much to loose. but if your buying a ring and pinion and bearings just spend the money on a mini.

we have the mini's, full spools, c-clip elim kits all in stock

its going to be on my dd

Chase @ ECGS (Cperry) put an 8.8 in my semi DD 01 TJ. I supplied the 8.8, he supplied the ARB, gears, diff protection, labor, and so much more. Glad I spent the $$$ on the ARB - great on-road manner and great traction off road. And ECGS stands behind their products and work. Top notch shop, great prices, great work!
