I have been thinking about replaceing the dropin liner in my Tacoma with a sprayin liner "line-x or rhino-liner" and wonder if anyone have pros/cons of one over the other, or for that matter a distributor in the raleigh area?

I did a hercu-liner myself some time back but it faded some overtime and I really don't want to go through all the prep work again.

Thanks! Eric

you will get a lot of opinions one VS the other, go to the respective installers, see the facility, and the end product.

The Line-X dealer in Wake county is Line-X of the Triangle, He does a supurb job, and will stand behind his product/install. has been installing Line-X for just about 10 years.

Located behind the WalMart on Glenwood Ave. Your best off scheduling an appointment, most days, he's fairly busy.

The Rhino Dealer is up off Milbrook and Capital Blvd, near Capital Ford. Have no personal experiance with them, but do a search here, and I'm sure you'll come up with a few hits.

Oh, and if ya go visit Mel at Line-X, Tell him Kevin sent ya.

Ive searched all the threads on here and a lot elsewhere online for my girlfriends dad. It was a pretty much unanimous vote for Line-X.

I just had the guys down here in Charlotte do the Line-X on my truck and I was VERY pleased. They did an excellent job.

I have had quite a few other vehicles done with Line-X as well and all have been excellent.

I had a drop-in liner in my Tacoma for 3 whole weeks, and it had already worn through the paint in the bed.. Those things are horrible.

I am assuming it would be possible to spray Herc using a spray gun but what would it take? A different tip and I would imagine some thinner. Anyone ever tried this?

Well, nevermind what I said. See post below. Ill take real world experience over foolish postulation any day.

Not true, Herculiner sprays excellent! You need a shutz gun to spray it. I used a gun made by SEM for their bedliner and it worked great. If I didnt already have the hurculiner I woulda used the SEM because it seems to be a better product and is tintable. Shoot it at about 65 psi for best results. Heres a few pics of my sprayed in herculiner underhood. SB

Forgot to mention, there is a UV topcoat for herculiner that keeps it from fading. Even LineX fades BTW

I got the vortex liner by a place here in charlotte and it is great, they did a beyond great job. It was a lot cheaper then anyone else on my 2000 tacoma. It has life time warranty. I ended up going to them because line-x declined me because I had a lifted truck and they said they couldn't do it so they lost $500 and rhino liner was to expensive. Also I went to this place and they had me done in half a day I dropped it off in the am before work and went at lunch and picked it up.

A friend of mine spays Speedliner in Raeford. Chad does a great job, won't charge an arm and leg, and Speedliner won't fade like some of the others do. Shoot me a PM if anyone is interested and I'll give you his contact info.
