the ones I have found at autozone and advance are small in diameter and to wide

Back in the day I had Dynatrac make mine. They were affordable then...

But, I know many local fab/machine shops can do them too

Fleetpride will bend them up, there was one in Raleigh, I'm pretty sure there would be one in Charlotte, not sure about anything closer. What size do you need? I have some 2.5" wide, I can't remember the length, I'm thinking 15" or so, I believe the thread is 9/16-18, but I can't remember for sure.

Well, since they bend them to your specific specifications, that should be no problem. They usually ask for width between the U, diameter/threads, and length from tip of bolt to the bottom of the U.
