Squeaky wheel...

Okay, just in the past few days my left front wheel has started to squeak and sometimes real loud. I asked Chase Perry what he thought and he said to try using a power washer to hose off the wheel and see what happened. I did that and the rest of them too, but that left front is still squeaking. Someone please tell me it's NOT gonna be a wheel bearing going south.

Doesnt the squeaky wheel get the grease?

*Sorry had to say it*

its probably your truck crying because it misses the TJ bumper.

Try greasing your hubs and checking to see if the caliper is siezed up and holding onto the rotor. If all else fails spray some WD-40 around that area while turning the wheel. Should be a nice temporary fix.

I always thought it was, "The sqeaky wheel gets the oil." Anyway, a wheel bearing is usually more of a roaring noise, not a squeak. Jack up that corner and spin the wheel and see where the noise comes from exactly. Probably brake noise. Does it go away when applying the brakes?

Yeah, it does, but on the S10 pickup I had for 15 years, most times when it was the brakes it only made noise when the brakes were applied, now it only STOPS when they're on, and starts up again when they aren't.

Well, right now it's in the shop where Chase works so they can check on it. I hope it IS "just" the brakes!

Yep, sounds like it's time for new pads. Or maybe just re-lube the mounting points.

Is this the S-10? If so, there is a peice of metal that is a warning device telling you you still have breaks, but it's time to change them. It's just a peice of metal bent to touch the rotor at a certain point when worn.

Yeah, that's what it was. Chase is gonna change them probably tomorrow if he hasn't already. Thanks for all the input.
