Who does it?

What is the cost differance ?

I like that it would be the LAST time I would roof anything if I went Standing Seam, but if the cost is grossly out of whack.....

Currently just thinking, wishing, planning a garage build, wondering about Standing seam roofing, if the cost benifit was there, I'd do the house too.

What say ye?

If I had my choice, standing seam by far.

There are several different types out now. Look around and the prices varry quite a bit and some are more comparable to a 30 year architectural shingle

what type of garage? why not metal siding and roof? Ceco, VP, and Nucor are all local and are affordable. Other metal building companies are very affordable as well

typical 24x30 possibly one wide door, but definately 8ft tall door(s)

If I could find a metal building that would be assembled by myself and a few friends, for what I think I could probably get materials for and build a stick built, it would be an option.

I'm just in the beginning of this now, ( the dreaming a scheming phase ) I'm sure there will be many more questions.

If I had the option, I'd go with a DIY metal building garage kit. I researched it a while ago and there were some VERY affordable kits out there, comparable or cheaper than stick built

Kevin -
If you decide to build stick, I have a pneumatic framing gun available. It's old - and occasionally jams - but it is easy enough to clear the jam.
