Start won't stop?

Working on a 1984 ford bronco 2 2.8 v6 carb. I took off the wiring harness and fixed all the wiring and cut off all that I thought I did not need. It will start no problem but when I turn the key off it stays running..... I have not done anything to trace yet figured I'd ask you guys first thank you for your time

Is your ignition wired to the battery instead of a switched source?

your 12v to the coil is staying hot with the key off.
Probably in the switch itself, you can put a toggle for the power to the coil or swap in a new ignition switch.
