So my starter's still out, and after a million opinions im gonna try to get it out and replace the copper connector bc people have said the starters themselves hardly ever go bad. Suggestions, estimates, thoughts, jokes? I'm in Raleigh. Also, she's been idling higher, used to be about 500 but now at a thousand. Timing belts sound like they're goin too.

Most people just replace the contacts in the relay. Someone (here I think) said to heat them up with a propane torch and bend them over backwards and reinstall. (I'm guessing they're bent at a 90* angle in there). Never had one apart but I need to do this to my 3.4 4runner starter too.
