Are there any pro's or con's from the two other than the obvious that one should way less than the other?

I might of just answered my question, but I figure it wouldn't hurt to ask.

From a forklifts tech point of veiw and experience absolutely none except an aluminun tank is less likely to blow if puctured, (no spark) some industrial plants require them because of that

Weight, about 20 pounds difference
As said, aluminum, no spark if ruptured
Also, I have seen steel tanks retired, they rust from the inside out. No not moister from the propane, but from tanks being checked and not completely purged of all air(which has H2O in the O2).

Hmm... The thought of it causing a spark does make sense. Another thing I thought of right after I posted was that I figure an aluminum tank would be more likely to "give" then puncture as a steel tank would.
What do aluminum tanks normally cost? Used, of course.

Chris, my neighbor has one for sale. PM Blownfuse he can bring it to the farm

Cool cool, appreciate the info Jeff. I've had that template done for the rings for a little while, now I just need some time and money, but I'll keep you posted.
