Just boght a jeep( I know I enjoy punishment) anyway its got a D60 front with a redneck ram set up high steer, but its leaking pretty good from the bottom seal aove the splined shaft where the steering arm bolts up, I assume this is a GM box? is it possible to replace this seal without tearing the box apart? Also the box seems to twist on the frame a little bit under load, anybody got any ideas on bracing it. Thanks in advance

YOu didn't say what kinda Jeep. If it's CJ. YJ, J truck what you have is a Saginaw steering box. Are you sure it's leaking there, or from one of the tapped fittings? IF it's twisting like you say, I would say it's the mounts. THey work loose, and oblong the holes. A steering box brace is what you need. Or one of the Big Daddy Offroad after market mounts.

pull the pitman arm off and you can replace the 2 seals there by pulling them out with a pick type tool, (or drill a small hole and put a screw in)

While messy you can start up the engine for a few seconds and let it just blow the seals completely out...

I like the blow seals out completely deal, that sounds like fun:beer:

Its a YJ with High steer, looks like a GM box? I think that was a popular conversion with High steer? Its drilled and tapped for the Ram
