Here is my score of the day ant the local j/y I found a dana 30 teraflex steering knuckle . Here is the issue someone drilled out the taper on the drag link tie rod and put a hime joint there with a large bolt .Not sure of size bolt it and rod end was missing .
Does somebody make a tapered sleeve to put a 1 ton tre in it ?

I know I could put a rod end there but I would prefer a proper TRE for it .

the sleeves from go-fer-it require you to drill the knuckle to 3/4" and they fit the wj drag link. im sure if you emailed them they could help you

If it's a Tera flex knuckle it comes with a straight bore. You can call teraflex. Its cost more for shipping than the sleeve. I have their highsteer kit. They supply hardened washers to put on the bottom side of the knuckle

From what I saw you weld it in place .
Well I did some diggin on the interwebs and found this

I think this will work. My concern is the sleeved knuckle woould now be a weak part and break .

Seems according to that site you just slip the sleeve in the oversize hole and then tighten up your TRE nut, expanding the sleeve inside the bore as you tighten the nut.. combined with nylock or castle nut+cotter pin, you'd not come apart, unless like you say the knuckle breaks. but then why not just go to a 60  welding the insert in is for removal, I believe..(changing TRE, without welding the sleeve will come off on the TRE. welding would retain the sleeve in the knuckle, which the knuckle is cast iron, right?)
