going to be doing a WJ knuckle/brake swap on my xj.
i'm going with 3/4 hiems.
what size tube should i run? 1"id 1.5"od? over kill or right?
i run 35's and wat to go up to 37s maybe 38 in the far future.
i have access to a lathe so maybe even solid stock?

how much does it usually run? i got a quote for like 9.65 a foot. i need maybe 10 feet. plus hiems and missalighnment spacer things lol. thats almost as expensive as buying a name-brand kit.

9.65 x10= 96.50
13x 4 =52
dont know price on the miss washers. (only need 2 sets, pitman arm and knuckle)
plus grade 8 nuts, bolt, lock washers

Your looking at around 100 for tubing and just under 100 for 4 fully dressed heims from Dan at Ruff Stuff. Then figure about 25 dollars for hardware. I personally prefer fine thread bolts and fiber lock nuts. So your lookin at around 225 dollars. Thats not too bad for a completely custom setup that you can say you built yourself. You need to keep in mind that you may have to rework your panhard bar cause doing the knuckle swap will change the geometry some. Just keep the panhard and drag link as close to parallel as you can.

I have some leftover .25 wall 1.5" dom. $7.50/ft. You should probally only need around 4'. Also ruffstuff has the chromo 3/4-3/4 hiems with misalignment spacers and weld in bungs for $42.50 for a pair.
