hate not knowing much about anything but engines. I feel like im the only one posting in newbie tech, haha. anyway how do i tell if components are bad, when it comes to suspension, and steering components. i have some pictures of what im talking about, i dont know names of the parts though. i can tell bushings are dry rotted and cracked, and they wont last long, but do i have to replace the whole component, or just the bushing? and where would i get it at? i know the part im replacing didnt come with the truck, but i dont know where to get it at. where is a good online store to get parts for older trucks? most places ive looked at all have cool parts for newer trucks, and just about any jeep. guess thats why people go jeep huh? ;)
i also notices there is too much play in the steering. here are some pictures. hopefully they are good enough to see everything ok. perhaps someone can tell me what looks like i may need to replace, and a good place to get it from.

I'm guessing a ford Bronco. Doesn't look bad at all. Just needs some grease. Go to advance or whatever and get yourself a grease gun and a tube of grease. (I like the one that you can operate with one hand.) All those little nipple looking things are grease zerks. hook up your grease gun to them and pump a few squirts into it untill the old stuff comes out aroung the rubber boots. The loose steering is probably wear in the box. The shock absorber things and steering stabilizers. Cracked bushings on the ends are not really something to worry about unless they are falling apart. At which point you probably need new stabilizers too. They will come with new bushings and metal caps. Also looks like the front axle seals are leaking a bit. Check your diff fluid level before using the four wheel drive.

yea i would say it has been lacking a little grease attention
jack it up and grab the tire and move it to see if there is any play in the steering components:beer:

Blue bushings are radius arm bushings and can be found from plenty of sources. If you have a lift then look into getting degreed bushings to fix caster. You definately likely want to replace your trac bar bushings since that does/will cause problems...and soon enough you'll be replacing those ball joints since your new 38's are going to trash them quickly. While you're at it, ditch the red steering dampner as well.
