Steering

When you had it aligned, did they spend the time to go through your components? There's a shit ton of moving parts that could be worn out. Define what you mean by "walk"?

As for the lift question. If he's running 35s and was on 36s, I'd say he's at least 5.5"+.

It has a 9 inch long arm lift. By walking I mean it just seems to go where it wants to go. Not an easy driver but I guess Im expecting to much from a jeep with that much lift. I dont know.

Do you find it walking with you only when the pavement gets rough? I'd check your tie rod ends (both tie rod and drag link) and ball joints for wear. Also check the trac bar for any wear in the bushings and/or joint depending on your setup. Double check that the trac bar mounts are secure and not loose.

If all of that is good, do you notice any extra travel in your steering wheel with the engine off?

I would expect a bit of walking with the lift, but overall it shouldn't be a PITA to drive. I suspect you've got some worn out components somewhere.

If you need reference for what each part is, check out Rusty's site for a diagram. It's about the nicest diagram I've seen: http://rustysoffroad.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=rustys&Category_Code=ste

Holy crap 9" of lift? What type of steering? What type of lift? Be specific, brand, joints, shackels etc etc.

That much lift will stress everything to the point fatigue.

I have about 5.5 with 36's. Now it's all cut up on 37's but no way you need that much lift. That will cause some of the rocking. Here is an older picture for reference. This is 5.5 with 36" TSL's which measure to 36", not like other company's that 36's actually measure to 35". There is just never any need for that much lift, unless its a mud truck.

Like this when I bought it, Supposedly a Rustys 9 inch long arm lift. Dont know much about this stuff but all work supposedly done by Galloways 4x4. Guess it was done right.
