stock 2000 TJ and 31X10.5X15 (question)

well, yes and no, depends on what your going to do with it. I drove my jeep with no lift on 31's for a while with no problems, but didn't do much wheeling. I think as long as you take it easy off road with the sway bars still connected then you should be ok. But I can tell you that with about 3" of lift and sway bars disconnected, I can stuff the 31's pretty good under the fender. maybe be a good idea to get the 1" leveling spacer for the front springs and run the 31's with that.

This is a very interesting question and a truely unique never discussed before question. Don't take ^ post as good information.

I had a 1997 TJ with 15x8 Rock Crawler Wheels and run a 31x10.50 with no issues. . .I didnt wheel every weekend but did go a few times and still had no problems. Just my experience

I ran 31x10.50s on my stock 2000 TJ rims with stock suspension for 7 years, only problem was rubbing the control arms at full turn. So I just tried to not turn the wheel all the way. With the proper backspacing, you probably would have no rubbing at all. This was my dd and I wheeled it a couple times on the easy stuff.

I have 31's on my 04 with Canyon wheels and no rubbing. If you do run into them rubbing you can put some washers on your steering stops and it will solve the rubbing.

My experience:

97 TJ Sport - 180k+ Miles - saggy suspension

1st Scenario:

Stock Suspension
15 x7 Stock steel Wheels, 31/10.5/15 - Mud Terrain Tires
Turning: Scrub at full lock of wheels
Flare/Fender: no flare interference

2nd Scenario

Stock Suspension
15 x 8 wheels with 4" Backspacing, 31/10.5/15 Mud Terrain Tires
Turning: No Scrub at all
Flare/Fender: At full flex, rear flares rubbed and had to take them off when at Uwharrie

So..as long as you don't go full flexing with aggressive M/T's, you can stay with stock suspension no problemo.

You can always "trim the flare" free mod if you have to after the fact - looks good from some I have seen.

Hope this helps.

x2. Once i switched to aftermarket wheels with 3.75 backspacing there was no rubbing
