So........I went to lowes this morning to get some flap discs and sawzaw blades. I was pulling out of the parking lot when the lady across the street called me and asked if someone was supposed to be at my house getting something....she said they were in hurry and already gone, and looked like they had gotten something heavy.
I rushed home and found my welder and tank gone, power tools piled up together beside the door.....damnit. upon further inspection I noticed they stole my hi lift of my trailer.
I only gone 20min.

Welder was a hobart 187.
Number 4 cylinder
Crappy hi lift.

The welder was on a home made cart that used to be for a pressure washer.....still says craftsman on it.

Thieves were driving a white suv....that's all I know.

Probably someone you know or who has been to your shop.....sad but usually true

On the plus side, it's good to hear that you still have good neighbors that care enough to call. That raises some hope for humanity.

(just trying to find the brighter lining here...)

My neighbor's just got hit.Same kind of thing, they were gone like 10 minutes. The guys went in through a back window, got their safe and a couple guns.Same vehicle description too, white SUV although it seems pretty unlikely that was the same guys since I am in Durham. It just sucks when people are too lazy to work ,but not too lazy to steal.....

I'm not aware of anything more useless than a thief. I had a floor jack and a nearly new impact gun stolen out of my driveway while I went inside to make a sandwich. Guy mowing the pasture across the road said the only vehicles he saw stop were two d.o.t. trucks that graveled over the end of my driveway where there was a couple of holes. Also had a kayak and a John boat taken by a crew the moved a double wide off of the lot next to my old house, tracked them down and got my boats back along with a few heads rolled though...

good for you dude wish we all were that lucky,

Buddy just put up cameras at his shop because the building next door got hit last week, its fucking rediculous how shitty people are these days. I hope you catch them before the cops do, and like everyone said, Its someone you know, always is.

Speaking of cameras, if anyone is interested in them, newegg is having a 72 hour sale and these seem like a good deal for 250...

Sorry to hear your shit got stolen Jeff..really sucks!

Surveillance Cameras

There is a kit I can get on cameras,$350 for 4 cameras and a DVR with 2 hours of recording.2 hours is really a fair amount of time because you can set them to only record on motion,so you get the last two hours of time that motion was recorded in.It is also network ready so you can view a live feed from it from home or on your cell phone if it's capable.

Up until this point....I didn't see the need for me to own a gun. I'm going gun shoping today and I'm going to spent all day tomorrow looking through the flea markets. I'm also gonna see if my home owners will cover any of it.

Unfortunately, I wouldn't mess w/ your insurance, for such a "small" amount. You'll have a deductable that may notevencover it, and if it does, the amount they pay back is really small in comparison to what will happen w/ your rates.

And i'm not so sure what good owning a gun would have done you in this case,

Sorry to hear that anyone gets ripped off! IMHO, thieves are lower than pond scum...

Thieves were driving a white suv

OJ & I both have alibis!

One thing to think about: they knew what you had to steal *AND* knew you were leaving/gone

Edit: You should've called the popo RIGHT THEN! If they roll up on your buds waiting for your return... no biggy. If they managed to stop/detain the thieves, you'd bee laughing right now! Again, sorry it happened...

Nope.......I'm going to turn in the hobart that I paid cash for at tractor supply back in december.

I called cops as soon as I got home.

years ago I had a new quad stolen. it was found a month later on some property a couple dudes rode on. 1 of them had been by my shop a couple weeks before it was stolen. couldnt prove shit though

Thats shitty man, hate it for ya. Check the meth dealers & pawn shops:popcorn: Can you post an ad on Craigslist for something like that? If you find out who did it call me:handed:

This brings to mind, I remember seeing an ad on CL a while back, guys car had been stolen and burned, the ad was something like...

"Hi, my name is ____________, my 95 Beater was stolen from a parking lot, and found later burned to a crisp in another parking lot about 20 miles away, I did not have insurance to cover this because the car isn't worth the insurance prices, but I did like the car, so here is the deal.
I will pay YOU $1000 cash money if you can tell me who is responsible, no questions, I don't need to know your name, I just need to know the thiefs name and where they can be found and the money is yours.
Thank you, and Happy Hunting"

Sucks to hear Jefe'. I will keep an eye out in the pawn shops and whatnot around here. Do you still have the paperwork that came with it or possibly a serial # for the machine?
