Anyone know the NC Laws on overall width of something driven on the road? Just thinking about a few things and was trying to find out. Ive searched everywhere, and can not find much of anything.

Thanks,
Scott

I'm sitt'n right on 102". The one beside me had a wide load sign when on the roll back.

That's what I read and built to, but it's probably plenty illegal lots of other ways if a cop really wanted to hassle me and was bored.

Hubs out, 14" wide wheels, 7" backspacing, 49's.

Thanks for the info guys, i was curious if I was going to be blatently too wide at 95 inches or so.

The man will be able to get me on other things if he really wishes, but was just curious about the width.

Thanks

Does anywhere in NC have the regulation of 96"? If so, Would it just be on backroads?

There are 13 states that have 96" maximum vehicle width requirements. NC is not one of them. I don't know all the details, but the rules don't apply to the Interstate Highways in those states. It typically is a concern for construction trucks and such operating in those states that travel off the main interestates regularly. We use to offer different vehicle width options on our Volvo VHD, but now commonized for the 96".
