Anybody else see it? I won't spoil it for the hover over, but definitely an exciting race at a few points.

It was good to see some new names up there fighting it out. I thought Dungey had it wrapped up at half race, especially after laying down the fast laps in his heat. And then I thought Bubba was going to throw it down trying to make up that 4 second gap. I was a bit disappointed that Dungey couldn't hold it together for the win, but man what a great showing and last lap charge!

What was up with Reed? It takes about 2 minutes to change a front wheel, and he certainly could have fought back through for some points or at least a finish. Not sure whats going on there, but definitely more to it than they showed.

Heck yes I watched it! I was super stoked to see Dungey up there running so fast! I expected more from Villopotto though. Maybe his knee still isn't 100%. He wasn't up to Stewart's pace at the US Open back in October, but had only been on the bike two weeks. Dungey appeared to fade a little around lap 15, or maybe it was just Stewart wicking it up or a combination of both. Jumping from the lites class, it may take Dungey a bit to get to use to running 20 fast SX race laps.

Stewart said something on the podium about going the wrong way with his bike setup and it being too rigid. It didn't look good in the whoops leading up to the triple. It kicked out on him several times. Stewart will be faster in coming rounds.

Reed didn't crash. Austin Stroupe moved over on him coming out of the gate, and apparently Austin's foot peg got into Reed's front wheel and killed it. Sucks since Austin isn't competing in the 450 class, but oh well. There was some chatter on one of the MX/SX boards about Chad not replacing his wheel and getting back in there to pick up some points. Apparently the rules in SX are such that the rider, head mechanic, and bike have to stay in the arena, and can't bring a cart with a ton of stuff in there. They would have to of had someone else bring a wheel up from the trailer. Not sure about all that with the rules. In MX, they can pull off and usually have spare wheels and stuff right there that they can change.

I was also surprised to see Windham up there in 3rd and making the pass on Short! But, Dungey and Stewart had 30 seconds on 3rd place! I was shocked they pulled such a huge gap. I think it really shows Dungey has the speed.

It was good to see Langston get 10th after 2 yrs away and all the physical problems he has had. I think he will get faster as the series goes on.

Another surpise was J Law. The guy spends 6 months in jail, rides his bike 5 times during 1 week before the first round of SX, and qualifies for the main event! I think he will be up to speed about half way through the series or so. It will be interesting to see if the jail time changed his attitude.

Dan Reardon had a seriously sketchy get off at the end of the first whoops section, and got a grade two concussion.

Yeah, but Stroupe is from Lincolnton, so I have to pull for him.

That kid has thrown so much away that it's ridiculous. If he doesn't pull it together in the next year, I don't know if he ever will. I am not a fan of his at all, but its amazing how good he is.

That was crazy to see. Glad to know he's generally ok. Looked like he (his body) landed on the floor then hit the metal gate.

Yeh, I pull for Stroupe too since he is sort of local to me, but I just hate Reed got taken out by him since he is competing in the East Coast lites class and only running the 450 for experience and sponsor exposure, not for points. Just sucks for Reed, but it wasn't Stroupe's fault. It was just racing. It sucks to let off, but if Reed had just left off enough to let Stroupe have the line then he would have finished the race.

I like J Law. I guess it is because he reminds me of a guy I use to ride with. Did you hear about how during one of the MX rounds last year he rode off the track and over to the SX track that was right there, hit the whoops section a couple of times and then came back and rejoined the race! Fawking weirdo, but I like him.
Some how I missed that Mike Alessi is not riding SX and doing only MX this year. A couple of laps into the main event I started wondering where is Mike? His brother just about piled it up in his heat race, or actually I think that was the lites LCQ.
