My truck has been changed alot over the past year. I've thrown lots of money at it (lots to me) and I still wasn't happy with what I had. My build is taking a turn and I'm letting professionals do most of the work.

The tired old 2clyinder 22r is gone and so is the 5speed/dual cases and such. I had super low gears but that was no fun when I only had 50hp to turn the tires.

I now have a mildly built sbc.TH350/Np205. I'm hoping to have the combo set in place by the end of this week. I'm going to twinn stick my tcase this week while it's still out of the truck. I'm going to mount the engine and build the t case mounts (one on adapter and one side mount)

My friend (who is a mechanic) is going to get it running for gas for me ......Then it's going to Kenniths for Propane.

I will take as many pics as I can.

I think that my most agarvating thing is going to be the tranny tunnel. Since I don't have any body lift.....I think the whole tranny tunnel will have to be cut out.

The floor will be 1" square tube with AL over top...and some insulation on the bottom side. I hear those Th350s put off some heat.

I hope it runs off of 8:flipoff2:

I hate the damn rain but I did make a little progress today.

Here is the new motor that I got from catatonic a few weeks ago

I cut the front clip off so I would have to take the trase and case off of the motor

It's looking like my brake lines are going to be in the way of the distributor.....damnit

I sat the motor in place today to get a good idea of how much I'm gonna have to cut on the fire wall. I'm gonna have a piece made that mounts on the inside of the fire wall that will be removable for easy access to the distributor and tranny bolts. The transmission seems sits up nice and high without and modifications. All seems to be well now but I fear it won't be once the 205 goes back on.

I have a guy wanting to trade me a New in box propane kit made by Borg Warner. The kit says its for a small block ford but he said it will bolt to my elderblock intake. This kit is from way back in the day but has never been taken out of the box. He says that he has another mixer to go with it. All he wants for the lot is my holley 650dpr. I'm gonna check out the specs on the mixers and I might do it. That would save some money but i'm not gettin my hopes up.

Seems to me that by hybriding this kind of shit together, you're looking at more headaches. Who knows if the flow will actually be right for oyur needs, just b/c it bolts up dosn't mean it will work.... JMHO

I was going to ditch the holley anyway......I'm not going to get the stuff if the flow isn't right.

I didn't make any progress tonight but I did get two budlight draft handles for my twinnstick shifters

lol

I tried to make some progress last night but I didn't really get anything done. I wen't out Mark's around 10:30 to pick up some sbc motor mounts. I got back home and jacked the motor up....then realized that the freeze plugs that go behind the motor mounts were missing on both sides. I will have to get me some today. I also got started on the 205. I pulled the springs/detents but wasn't sure about the seperator pin that has to be knocked out. None of the right-ups that I saw had a good pic of it. I guess it's the pin looking thing you can see when you punch in the freeze plugs? I will see if I can get the shift rails out today. How do I get the freeze plugs back out.....remove the inspection cover?

yep, I think that would be a good question. damn hate you wasted your time. but I got the axle in.

The PO had said something about the freeze plugs but I thought he had replaced them. I guess not. No big deal (I hope). I put the plugs in today and bolted the motor mounts on. I have header clearance issues with the stock motor mount(block side). I'll more than likely just buy the bling swap motor mounts. They are about 100 bucks but they look to be worth it.

I messed with the 205 a little more today.....

detent stuff

I pulled both rails....I didn't have the allen wrench in far enough to catch the shift fork for the inner rail and it fell into the case. SHIT. I pulled the PTO cover off and to check the inside out. If I take the snap ring off the back of the shaft will the large gear slide off? This seams to be the only way to gain access to the shift forks...

I'm gonna have to make some motor mounts like these....I nabbed this pic from Crash's v8 4runner swap. He does awsome work.
