swapping yota axle?

[84crawling]

OK guy's I'm thinking about swapping out my rear axle on my 84 X-cab (since it's totaled) and I'm planing on lifting it. I have heard the later model pickup's have a wider axle in the rear I have a 86 I was wanting to use it's a turbo so it's has the v6 chunk, stronger but it's a 2wd. I know going to have to switch out the axle shafts(5lug) to 6lug but wanted to make sure it was the same spline count? any info would help

Toyota is really good about using the same parts on lots of stuff so Id put my best guess as its the same spline count. If you wanna try before you buy, I gotta put a new gasket on my rearend. Ill have my axles out.

2wd third's are 7.5 not 8" and are 27 spline not 30. Check this out for all toy questions, it's helped me alot.
