anyone using one ? where is a good place to buy one at a decent price with a hi pull rating ? are they any good at all ? thanks. im sure they are lighter than regular cable.

I have been using one for almost a year now. It works great. Gotta be careful about sharp rocks. Its easier to pull off spool and you dont have to worry about piercing your fingers and hands. Also if it breaks, they say it will just fall to the ground and not cut you in half.....thats a plus. You can get a winch roppe for under 2oo bucks , but i have seen the Warn rope for over 600 bucks. Go for it.

I have Amsteel blue on my rig also and have run it for a couple of years now. Its 100' of 5\16ths thick and weighs less than 5 lbs!!!! It is rated at 15,500 lbs I believe. I will not run cable on my rig after having this, its light and easy to use. The only thing is rock rash and UV resistance is not that great!
HEre is a link to a site with the rope.

I actually heard a guy say to his buddy " look at that ski rope he has on his winch" and they walked off laughing..:shaking:

I got my Amsteel blue from Andy 2 years or so ago. I have been very happy with it. Just remember to leave a complete layer on the drum when winching or you will pull the terminal off the end of the rope.

thanks guys. andy seen my post and called me. im ordering one from him. thanks again. (mike)

best part is when/if for some reason it breaks in the woods...you can re-weave it. Had to do it 2 weeks ago.

Watching it fail and not kill anyone was a good feeling...

Only broke because i was in a dead pull, truck vs rock...:shaking: Lession: pay attention to spotters

Love my Amsteel. I run 100' of 3/8 on my 9.5K. Only thing is it tends to fade out from being in the sun. I believe my hook and shackle weigh more than the rope does.

bought one today . amsteel 7/16 x 90ft. thanks everyone.
