I have an XJ 01 w/ 3.5 RE lift kit the drive shaft is still pretty parallel but I'm thinking about taking it up to 5" in the front and 5.5" in the rear and was wondering about the angle. How would I go about/ or should I say can I drop down the T-case with some bushings or washers between the cross member and frame?

tcase drops just cost you ground clearance, youd do better to go SYE (slipyoke eliminator) and new driveshaft.

You might be lucky and I'll be wrong. But you wont be able to drop the transfer case enough with 5.5" lift with an 01 XJ. You should invest in an SYE now, before you go higher.

You are not wrong, very seldom does this work properly without the SYE/CV shaft on the 96+ XJs.

I hope you are planning on adding the other required components to the RE 3.5" kit to go to 5.5" (UCAs, trackbar, etc)
