Tcase chattering in TJ

I've got a 2000 Jeep Wrangler with the NP231. It had a SYE on this case when I got it. It has been chattering and leaving fluids sprayed on the tub since install. Only spots I see fluid is circled in yellow but isn't where it's spraying on tub. I think the chattering is coming from chain slop but wasn't sure if it could be something else. Tcase is still full of fluid. But the chattering seems to be louder right now then it was recently.

I’ve found that if you put them in neutral, chock the wheels, and Jack the front so you can spin the front shaft. If it’s chain chatter you will hear and feel it by the front output. As for the atf that looks like it’s coming from the driveshaft which is probably getting it from the output seal.

I had a sye do the same thing. Turns out it was leaking by the splines on the rear yoke. I pulled the yoke and put some rvt on it and put it all back together. Hasn't leaked since.

They make seals to go behind the nut:
