Technical Term Shorthand

(I'm not sure if there is a thread with this stuff already, b/c I couldn't find one. If there is, point me to it)

I think we should have a thread for new guys (like myself) that explains some of the shorthand terms we use on the internet. For instance, I know "SOA" means "Spring Over Axle", but I can't for the life of me figure out what "SAS" means, lol. I'm sure there are others out there that don't have a clue as well. Throw in any Tech Shorthand that you guys use. I think it'd come in handy.
 
SAS = Solid Axle Swap
 
4x4 = Four by four
4WD = Four Wheel Drive
CTD= Cummins Turbo Diesel
SYE= Slip Yoke Eliminator
D60(or 20, 30, 35, 44, 61, 70, 300, etc)= Dana 60, etc (Axles and Transfercases)
NV4500, 3550, 5600, etc (also NVG)= New Venture Gear 4500 (Transmission)
NP203,205,208,231,241,242,249, etc= New Process 203 (Transfer Cases)
HREW= Hot rolled, electric welded, a process for manufacturing tubing where flat material is formed and welded
DOM= Drawn over mandrel, a process for manufacturing tubing that eliminates the welded seam
JOTD= Joke of the day
SB= Short bed or short block or small block, use context clues
LB= Long bed or long block, use context clues
Mog= Unimog

SRW=Single Rear Wheel
DRW=Dual rear wheel (dually)
NA=Normally Aspirated (non turbo/supercharged)
SBC/SBF=Small block chevy/small block ford
TRE=Tie Rod End
SAS=Solid Axle Swap
IFS=Independent Front Suspension
TDC=top dead center
PSD/DSD=Drivers side drop/Passenger side drop=which side of the front axle the pumpkin is on- Also seen PSD as power stroke diesel.
14b=GM corporate 14 bolt axle, mega-moo ton truck axle in most cases
FF=Full floating axle, many types (D60, 14b, FJ80, Ford sterling)
TTB= Ford IFS through the mid 90s. I think it stands for twin traction beam, but you can translate it to = :poop:
TC=Transfer Case
AW4=Jeep auto tranny
22r/e/t=Lots of variations, toyota 4 banger
TH350/400=Common burly auto tranny, mates to all kinds of things
R&P= Ring and pinion (gears in the differential)
DS=Drivers's side or Driveshaft. Context will help
4.0 (HO)=The best small truck engine ever produced. Yes, I'm biased. AMC/Jeep inline 6- HO is high output.
CV= constant velocity
XJ=Small jeep cherokees
FSJ=Full Size Jeep
HP/LP=High/low pinion, refers to the rotation and orientation of the front diff gears

Of course there are more but I can't think of them.

CJ is a wrangler with circle headlights (late 70s, early 80s)
YJ is a wrangler with square headlights (87-95ish)
TJ is a wrangler with circle headlights (97-03)
XJ is a cherokee.

(don't quote me on the dates though. i was guessing)

CJ is not a Wrangler. The original CJ came out in the 40's, its the "civilian" version of the military Jeep. Rumor has it that CJ actually stands for Civilian Jeep.
