Just finished my knuckle rebuild w/wheel bearings. I used the Trail Gear Knuckle Rebuild Kit w/ Wheel Bearings, I like how the kit had everything in it that I needed to fix my front end. I cant believe how dirty the out side of the knuckle was by the time I clean all the crude and grease off I had a big pile on the floor. My wheel bearings were so bad they fell apart in my hands when I took them out. I'm lucky the tires didn’t fall off the runner and tear more stuff up. My wheels were wobbling as I road down the road now everything feels nice and tight. I was so use to the front end being so lose it just doesn’t feel the same now that I have all new parts and everything is tighten down to specs. Replace a few wheel studs that were messed up. That was one big job hope I don’t have to do that again for a long time. The differential looks so nice and clean now I think its time to paint it. What would be the best color to paint the differential. You got to think now when I get most the major mechanics fix my paint scheme going to be Lime green for the body and flat black for all the accessories. I want to be seen coming down the road lol, everybody keeps tell me you don’t want to paint it this color, but I like this color. My dad had a 69 Dodge Challenger when I was young this color I loved that car and color. lol...........Ron

ditch the 'flat' black, and go with a semigloss. It'll look similer to the black powdercoated step bars,---- not shiny, but doesn't have that always dirty look of a true flat paint

I like gloss paint for one rerason, the slickness of it. Flat paint is a lot harder to clean in my opinion. I like the hammered paint, but also the "rebuilders gray" I have bought at Advance.

I vote for bacon grease. :flipoff2:

I like the hammered look but, whatever you put on it is going to get trashed. Semigloss black......... paint a jackOlantern on the chunk.

Whichever color you want...but make it gloss. Mud won't cake up on it as much and will hose right off.

Who needs paint? Maybe gloss will help you slide over rocks better?

I hear ya' on it being a big job. I did mine and upgraded the brakes at the same time. It took me a day and a half and I have air tools and 5 years experience in the auto field. I vote you paint it Gloss Black.

I vote you paint it same color as your truck and do all the linkages and knuckles and moving parts semi gloss black
it would match the paint better and look cool too

im always a fan of the rust colored primer. Rust-oleum Pro looks real nice and tough, and then you can paint it any color you want later. Also, you don't even have to worry about how it looks when something starts to rust.

Some people do still appreciate thier junk enough to paint it
and drive it down the road. I personally don't drive a trail only rig. I have a once daily driver, that now sits in my driveway wishing it could go wheeling, waiting on me to put all the peices back together.
By the way mine is epoxy primer white and has been for nearly ten years now. I was going to paint it, but thought hummm 1000 for a good paint job, or e locker. It seems that the add ons keep out weighing the paint job for some reason

See i'm lucky my brother does body & paint for a living. The only thing i have to do is buy the materials. My 4ruuner is also my DD it mite get thrashed but its going look good doing it. I just finished doin a knuckle rebuild and just wanted to see what other people mite have painted there front differential. I'll paint mine what ever color i decided. Some people like there stuff to look good even if there thrash the he!! out of it. :driver: :burnout:

If it was such a pain in the arse, I say spit on the f##ker and call it good.........its going to rust again anyways......:bling:
