METAL MASHER
Moab, the final hurrah, we hit Metal Masher trail. 10 miles of killer obstacles like "Mirror Gulch" that will try to take off the mirrors on a full sized 4WD, "Mother-in-Law Hill" and the optional 4+ rated "Rock Chucker Hill."
The coups de grace is Widow Maker, a huge step that doesn't quit once you crest the first step. Our group of HANO, foreman1036, scjeep and The Krawler came up to Widow Maker just as a large, 18 rig group was finishing up. The rig on the obstacle did a back flip right after we got there and the last two of their rigs took straps to ensure they didn't follow suit.
Now there was a Tellico, Lower Two, type of crowd at the top of the rock. Probably 40 or so folks as our little group of eastern built rigs approached Widow Maker. Short story, the three of us in our rigs went right up this signature obstacle and then gave scjeep, in a rented Rubicon, a couple of tugs with the winch rope to get him up also.
This is how we do it "down south"
HANO
The Krawler
Hopefully one of our group got some of the action when foreman1036 did the same thing and will post it.
We did NC4x4 proud on our last day
