The proud parent thread.

My oldest lives in an apartment on top of a mountain in Boone. She is a senior at App state. She is driving my wife’s JKU this year she is student teaching in Wilksboro she has to drive there several days a week so we let her drive it instead of her 99TJ. First snow this year. So proud

So some of you know my son started a lawn care business this summer and he has been doing very well which makes me super proud but lets get to the story.

the other day we were standing in his new shed he built: Sons trailer build and he was telling me about a lady that owed him money. He said she was a single mom with 2 kids and he has been letting her slide on payments as she mentioned being tight and losing one of her jobs. He cuts the neighbors yard also so he continued to cut her lawn so it would look nice for the neighborhood and reduced her fee to help her.

Well he told me she reached out 2 weeks before Christmas and told him she will not be able to pay the full amount until maybe the new year and it will have to be installments as she does not even have money to buy her kids gifts and pay him.

So he called her and made a deal. he said for her to take the money she owed him and use some of it to buy Christmas gifts for her kids and if she sent him photos of the receipts he will void what she owes him so the kids can have a nice Christmas as he did not feel they should suffer due to her being on hard times. She did exactly that and he wished her a Merry Christmas and her kids were able to have a nice Christmas. I am so proud that he understands it is better to give than receive.

Great character...taught him well.

Eli managed 3rd team all state this year. I'm grateful for that, but his stats are better than most of the others. Not bitter at all, lol.

Damn, I hate to keep posting in here, but it is what it is.

This has been an exciting week. Eli has had talks with several D1 football recruiters.

Then we had swim regionals this morning. He had personal bests in 50 free and 100 butterfly, posting 4th place finishes in both. His 200 free relay finished first and 400 free relay finished 3rd. All 4 qualify for the state meet on Friday in Raleigh.

200 free, 1st place

I didn't raise or help make this kid but I'm proud of my sister and family. RaShiek and herself have raised a fine young man.

Signed to play for Navy. Full scholarship. He also is ranking in top 5 percent academics for his graduation class.
Light colored sweatshirt wearer is his brother. This is the fella I asked prayers for when he was nearly killed in a car wreck. His foot ball was done at Western because of it. Well little brother has passed him.

How time flies. My little man starts kindergarten this year. View attachment 434919
Good grief they don’t stay little long. Cherish men!!
Man, are you right. I remember when my daughter was born and someone saying to me "She'll be starting Kindergarten before you know it" well don't you know, Kindergarten came and went and now she's finishing up her last few months of 1st grade...

I put the boys to work the other day helping me put the rebuilt starter back on the mower. Making them earn all that money we spent in Gatlinburg on spring break.
