DBW is just fine, just a little more wiring and making sure you get the right parts.   The later model stuff is a little easier to deal with because it is all built into the pedal and TB.  The earlier stuff is a bit more challenging because you have to make sure you have the right tac module and harness to go along with your pedal and TB and there are multiple different tac modules over the years.
