what does this stand for?? "WVCCORJ"

West Virginia Children's Charities Off Road Jamboree

Or something real close to that.

I have never been, but always hear good things about the event.
Good wheeling & good cause.

Hope to make it this year.

WVCCORJ

I have been to this Event on July 4th Weekend, several times in the past. Always had a great time...in the past, hosted by the Mountaineer Offroad Club.

Great location @ Songer's Whitewater Raft Campground. Plenty of room for Tent's, Rig's, Trailers, RV's, TractorTrailer's, Helicopters...whatever you bring!

People are great, Hot Showers, Mini-Store at Songer's with camping stuff, cold drinks and ice...picnic tables, etc....mostly for Rafters, but they're 4x4 friendly as long as you respect their property and don't get really Stupid....

Beautiful Location...Right down the road from Summerville Lake, bring your boat, canoe, etc if you want.

The trailhead is the only thing...it's about 20 miles down the highway to where the trails start. So either have tags on your junk or trailer it to the starting point, plenty of parking there too, so not really a big deal. There are a couple of gas stations on the way to fuel/tune, etc.

Fireworks are really cool and good BBQ/Raffle, etc.

Not sure if I'll make it this year with our new baby and all, but would like to!!

Later,

:driver: BigJUGGY

fee

I can see the $65 fee, but isn't the per person kinda steep. $130 plus two toys if the wife comes along.

Larry, I've made that complaint every year. For a family of 4, price is just too high, even if it's for a good cause.

I'm sorry that my family usually comes with me on ride.

ok ok....about the price thing..... must not be too bad since we always book up and have to turn people away

$65 for a group of 4 adults $260

1 jeep at Camp Jeep is $345-$395... and you ride the kiddie trails

jeep jamboree..... adults are $265 EACH kids 6-12 are $125 EACH

so complain about the price of you want to but we are way cheaper than most other events

I know, we discussed this last year. And like last year, I'll say again, I don't go to Camp Jeep, or Jeep Jamboree. Baltimore 4wheelers OHV, $115 for my jeep, and all 4 of us. That's the only event I've ever paid for.

Not knocking your event, have heard some great things about it, just never saw the need to pay extra for passangers when the jeep takes the same amount of room on the trail with 1 person in it or 4. Extra for meals I do understand.

Oh, and good luck with your event, it's a great cause and a great ride from the pictures I've seen.

Look at the Swiss Mtn Trip for pictures from last years ride! I enjoyed the heck out of trip the last two years up there...great group to ride with! (I should say the campsite pictures are NOT at Songer, JB and I were over at New River Campground...but would recommend SONGER in a big way...we will stay there next time)

As far as the $, I can understand both sides... meal tickets are a pain to administer too, not sure if tshirts are part of the pkg or not, etc. I can say the wheeling is awesome and nice part is it is almost all interstate (or divided hwy) there.

Wish I could make it but already planning on camping at the beach that week.

Plus a few years back when I went the drunks running the RTI ramp ran me off the side and cost me a fender.
Plus after the ride when we returned with our guide we were told no food left, sorry, but they would give us $5 for food if we wanted to order out.
Think that some of the host staff put the food money into the beer money.
Also after that ask to see where the money went and how much was paid out and told they did not keep those records, so as of now if someone does not show me the paper work I would take it the money does not go to the correct places. The ride was good that is the one thing, but for the money and the drunks, no way!!!!

and which year was that?...............was that when it was held at ACE whitewater where it real hard to even get on the road heading ot the trails because of traffic and location of the place? ....those members ar eno longer in the club.,the club has completely reorganized and are now a non profit corporation registered with the secretary of state. Those past board members took the money and ran.lef tteh club with nothing to start over with either.
That is the only time ive heard complaints about the event......since i and most other members and all of the board have came onto the scene we havent heard any complaints..... well besides the one thats says $65 is too much each year.....

We have moved the headquarters to alot better location, hire a caterer for the pigroast and for breakfast, have good fireworks....last year and this year alot more activities for the kids, family back at camp on sunday...

i see your in CNC..........Ask Mike Rayos how its been ran since ive been on the board of the club.

Just to throw in my .02, they took last year off, but had the event for guests, etc and was a blast. Well organized fun, great campground...only wish I could make it this year! (Camping at the beach instead)

Sam

I think there is probably 8 rigs or so coming up from NC from CORE. Will be camping at New River campground.
