Just came home to find someone stole my hitch insert. I Should have bought a lock. Wouldn't be such a big deal but I ordered a heavy duty one with a 6" drop. Guess I will order a new one tomorrow. live and learn.

Sucks to hear. I always try to remember to take the insert out and put it under the rear seat or the toolbox, had a 4" drop stolen about 8 months ago, didn't even notice it until I was about to load up the trailer and it was gone.

Someone probably walked into it, then proceded to chuck it into the woods. Locks are more of a pain than they're worth anyway.

Mine has a locking pin.
That will no longer unlock.
I hope I never need to remove it.

I leave mine in the truck, mostly because I smack my shins on it ALL the time in the dark.

NEVER AGAIN

I bought a locking Reese brand locking pin one time. First time I used it was to go to Roanoke Va.(120mi) to pick up small backhoe. When we got home the locking part of the pin was gone. Don't know where or when in fell off. Scared me so bad I have never replaced it. I have the pin portion of the pin hanging in the shop where I keep all my reciever hitches,just to remind me. I will never use a locking pin again!
