My turn !!!

Shop got broken into last night, they got about $5500-$6000 worth of tools.

Beat the living fuck outta my tool box prying it open, tore the hell outta most of the drawers. ( It WAS locked !!!) stole most all my air tools, all my electronic diag meters ( 3 different DVOM's), wrenches, screw drivers, a $250 torque wrench and various cased tools.

I can still function but I'm out about $3000 worth of shit cuz some turd hasn't got balls enough to actually WORK for a living.

Insurance ? HA, I just got the paper work for company sponsored tool insurance in the mail Monday, haven't had a chance to even read thru the whole thing to see whats coverd, pretty much a moot point now.

Most of my junk is engraved, so that should make it that much harder to unload, sure hope so.

If ANYONE comes up to you and wants to sell you tools ( other than a tool rep) berate and put the smack down on them. Then call me so I can !!!

I've been approched many times in the past by dudes selling tools on the street, never bought any because more than likely, they were stolen.

I dare another person to try and do that now !!

It is tough enough to make a living turning a wrench, then some weasel bastard has to take what took me hard work and a lot of $$$ to earn !!!

bastards better hope the cops catch them before we do !!!

Sorry that really sucks. I got hit once when I had my Shop in California and these guys had the balls to do it while i was there. One guy had me anwering questions about his car while his buddy snuck around back and pinched the tools. I did not reallize it until the next day. they got around 1200 worth. that was 5 years ago and I still have not been able to replace all the missing stuf.
 
God Damn Kevin... I'm really sorry to hear it - let's keep our eyes on craigslist...
 
Best part, Wake County version of CSI was there taking prints, got a few but, due to the nature of my business, the box was greasy, which makes pulling prints near impossible.

SO, if any of y'all feel the urge, wipe your boxes down once in awhile, might help.

The good prints were actually on the other guys tools cart, which he happened to just get, so it was still clean. got a few prints, now we get to see if the turds are on file.

I've been mad all day, to the point all I can do is laugh cuz there ain't a GAWD Damn thing I can do about it but buy more shit as I can afford it.

They got EVERY impact gun in the shop !!

Sorry dude, we used to have that problem at our shop. We had a large room where everyone kept their toolboxes (about 50 of them) and someone would wedge a prybar in the drawers and bend them out. What's even worse it that it had to been someone that worked with us........ (not open to public) A camera was put in the room, problem solved....
 
By the way I caught word of a pawnshop here in W-S that has a lot of tools, primarily tools from what I've heard. Going to check out soon, any engravings to look out for?? Its off 109 between Gumtree rd and 311. Across from the shell station near the self storage place..
 
I am of the opinion that if a place of business does not have a room simular to a large vault/safe, then you would be better off building a armoured trailer to roll all your boxes on everyday, and taking them home.

It really sucks to have to supply the lowlifes a way to buy their next fix. I myself own many many tools, some of them expensive, some elcheapo's, but none of which I want to loose.

Kevin, not sure where it is you live, but if I can help I will. I have some tools you could borrow if you need to. I know it's how you make a living. Just let me know. I am in Morganton, between Asheville and Hickory.

On another note, I know it's not the Matco, Snap-on, Mac you might be used to, but Sears has some good deals on some stuff right now.
 
Damn, that sucks. If you want I've got a back up 231 impact you can have. Works fine, just the anvil is hammered to the point of dropping sockets. Get a me a list of the stuff taken and post it here, I'll put the word out on my end of town. What shop is it that you work in? I can also loan you a back up airhammer, 1/4 air ratchet, 1/2 drive torque wrench, a older digiloc dvom and a few other odds and ends of back up equipment. (comes from being a 1 man band, you keep extras of stuff you cant live without.) :mad:

Rat, I appreciate the offer, I have another gun at the house I will be taking in, I can do without the meters for a little while.

What really gets me, they took my gear wrenches, but just the ones still in the tray in the drawer, left he ones that were in my cart. ( the ones they took are the sizes that are not used much, 9,11,16,18mm and the 19mm that just still happend to be there.

the whole thing sux, but I think I'll manage.

A little "eye for an eye" is really the only thing that will slightly make a difference..IF you can find the bastards
 
I allso am a mechanic and have a LOT of tools, so if there is any thing you need let me know and i can get them to you...sorry no gear wrenches had to sell them, but lots more stuff!!

Now Troy you know we must be sympathetic to the plight of others, they have rights you know, even if they were, say.. a murdering dictator. We have to house, clothe them, make sure they have a soft bed and keep the ACLU happy. I'm sure these people didn't mean to steal, but our goverment has failed to provide them with the basic human needs for survival, so it's really our fault.
On a side bar this sux, it happened at my shop. We had a problem getting cars broke into and got revenge one night. We camped out in the building with a "set up car" outside (unlocked nice system). Around 2 am. someone tried to get in it, we ran out they jumped in their car (with a tinted sheild over the plate) and tried to speed off..but not before I threw a diesel starter through their rear window. The cops got them earlier that morning, they were part of a little Asian gang we have in Greensboro.

Oh, saw a dark blue last week on 98 in wake forest, SAS, soft top, 33's. Looked pretty good but musta had superlift springs. Bounced like a basketball. :lol: Figured I'd bust your balls some if it was yours. I wanted to trade tops with him.

I picked up a short set of the long gears (metric) 10,11,12,13,14,15,17 at NAPA for 23 bucks a few weeks back. Filled it in at Lowes for 20 more. :smokin: Gears are the snit for us lazy bastages.

If you come up on something you need to borrow, let me know and its yours. Provided I get it back that is. :lol:

That little Asian gang has been going on for a while. I lived in G'boro about 10 years ago when they were mostly underage. They broke into my car 3 times, the cops would catch them and take them back home. Being underage at the time, that was all they could do.

Now they are all older and more ruthless, go figure.
 
ive also got two impacts you could use if you need, and an air hammer... well actually i dont even have an air compressor right now so you could borrow the ratchet too. in Raleigh

thats a big part of the problem, even if the cops do get those bastards our judicial system just slaps them on the wrist and lets them back out to "play" again...they should send them back overseas, or maybe just halfway and then let them swim the rest:mad:
