I was driving and seen this today! The red one was sitting in a outfitters parking lot and I had to stop. The guy and his daughter and soninlaw are from Belgium! He did the conversion himself 34 years ago. This is his second visit to the USA! It was shipped to Baltimore,Md and is on his way to Alaska! The FJ 43 has been all over the world literally! He has done five of these conversions and all have been on Toyota's. The white one was bought from gun runners/guns for hire at the Diamond Mine in Africa! He say's that only a Toyota can survive the rigors of Global Travel! The aluminum is riveted and sealed to the body with REAL RUBBER which has never been replaced since built! The craftsmanship is incredible!
A few of the specs, four cylinder diesel with over 500,000 miles and NEVER been rebuilt. Five speed transmission all original. The truck has been around the world several times! On his computer was so many photo's from all over the world. He has my Email and promised to send me some of the other three trucks when he had time. Lee was a man of few words and small stature but you could tell he was educated and used to finer things but was more interested in the adventure of what is over the next horizon. He told of stories from Australia, South America, China and I wanted to keep the conversation going but he had to travel. I feel very lucky to have stumbled on him and his creation. This is a once in a life time occurance and I am grateful to have been lucky enough to have met such a diverse individual and a truly unique vehicle.

Thanks Snappy for posting the pictures! The two trucks was Emailed to me from Lee (owner) and said he would send me later on a pic of all five he has built. I hope he doesn't forget me.

I saw them like that in Australia when I was in Adelaide.
