We can also thank the internet generation for obliterating what's left of the English language. My wife is an Occupational Therapist at a local hospital and occasionally gets students from one of the nearby colleges to work while they are in school to get them some hands-on experience. One of the tasks that the students get to do for her is put the notes into the system. There is a "shorthand" code that they have for OT's when referencing anatomy and certain medical terminology, but the remainder has to be in plain English. My wife had to go back behind several of the students that were using text lingo and HORRIBLE spelling in their notes like "Told patience that U R not sposed to holed arm that wy." Bear in mind, the devices and software they are entering notes into has no spell or grammar check, so unlike an iPhone that will auto-correct, what you type is what you get.
