The Gas tank on my '67 dodge truck is behind the seat inside the cab as is with most old truck tanks.

What I was thinking about doing as was to move the tank to the front of the bed and then box it in with sheet metal. that would take it out of direct sunlight, protect it from getting punctured from throwing things in the, and give me more storage inside the cab.

Any downside or hazardous reason not to put it in the bed that I'm overlooking?

im workin on moving mine

lookin for a fuel cell for cheap but may end up with the factory tank in the bed

as long as its mounted and hooked up properly there should be no issues.

Dont have to pass inspection so who is gonna say anything anyway?

it would work fine the way you are planning, you will just loose some bed space... you could always put it under the bed... Im sure they make a cell or another tank that will fit between the frame rails in the rear

Not too worried about the bed space. It's an 8.5' bed and would only take up about 8" of that. Some guys have put '70 Road Runner tanks under the bed and run the filler out behind the License Plate. But I'd rather use what I have.

thanks for the input so far.
