Tie down straps to long.

My ratchet straps are WAY WAY too long. Can I cut them?

I don't have a heated knife. Would a butane lighter and a razor blade work just as well?

I'm only using them to strap the jeep down, so I really don't need 27ft of strap...

Any suggestions?

I cut mine with a good pair of scissors, then melt the end with a lighter.

^This. Cut it, then melt the end with a lighter to keep it from unraveling.
