Where can I get the adapters you install in a straight hole so that I can use tie-rod ends? What are they called, so I don't sound like such an idiot asking for them?
 
Tube adapters / tube inserts.

Isn't Elkin near Charlotte? I'm sure Andy has a bunch in stock, if not there are TONS of online vendors selling them.

I just bought a couple from www.ballisticfabrication.com for my mini-tie-rods
 
Thanks, but I am looking for the tapered thing that would allow me to switch from Heim joints to TRE's.
I know details, details, details. Sorry
 
Yep, we make the TRE adapters all the time as well that go in a 3/4" hole to allow for a 1 ton TRE to be put in. Give me a shout if we can help you out.
